CSA shares are now available for the 2010 growing season!

About Our Farm
In 2004, Meadow’s Mirth began as a small plot of cut flowers on a friends’ organic vegetable farm in Stratham, NH. We have grown quite a bit since then. In the Fall of 2005 we moved to Berry Hill Farm, and now raise an wide array of unique herbs, vegetables and flowers alongside the beautiful berries on a 100% Certified Organic Farm. We have been offering Farm Shares through our Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program since 2007. If you would like to learn more about our farm practices, or the products we offer, check us out here at www.meadowsmirth.com.

How it works
One share ($400) entitles you to $440 worth of produce at our Farmers’ Market booth from January-December 2010. That is a 10% savings off of our regular market price. You can add to your account at any time throughout the season. Shareholders are given free choice from our in-season vegetables, herbs and flowers at market, however Berry Hill Farm berries are not included. We will be at the Exeter and Rollinsford Markets in the fall & winter, and during the spring & summer at Durham on Mondays, Dover on Wednesdays, Exeter on Thursdays, and Saturday we will be at Portsmouth. We encourage members to arrive at market early to ensure greatest selection.

A Flexible Choice System
Buying a Farm Share is a sustainable way to help farmers with early season start-up costs, and secures a market for fresh produce. You benefit by getting a discount on our products, and free choice as to what you want in your pickups- you take as much or as little as you need for the week. This amounts to less food waste, and more of what you enjoy. You can choose a time and location that works for you, and not worry about having to bring cash to the farmer’ market for your veggies. Plus if there is something you need that we don’t provide (eggs, dairy, etc) you can purchase it from one of the other market vendors. If you need to skip a week or two, there’s no need to call. We will keep track of your balance and periodically notify you so you can plan accordingly. You must use up your total amount before the end of December 2010. If there are any unused balances at the end of the year, we will donate that value in vegetables to the New Hampshire Food Bank.

As Organic growers, our philosophy is that healthy soil makes healthy plants. While we strive to provide optimal growing conditions for “bumper” crops, factors such as weather are beyond our control. Eating seasonally and locally can be a challenge, but the taste of farm fresh produce is more than worth it. We grow many unique and heirloom varieties too delicious to be found in any grocery store!

You will also be kept current via email and our blog about farm happenings including farm days, recipes, and what’s ripening in the field.
